Solid Mahogany Series

There is a traditional, vintage look and sound to these all solid wood Mahogany ukulele. They are trimmed with faux tortoise shell binding and have a Mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard.

These ukes have a very simple satin finish that keep the look and sound, nice and clean with excellent projection.

The Kala KA-SMHCE-C is a good quality all solid mahogany tonewood electro acoustic ukulele in concert size. It has an attractive satin finish together with tortoiseshell style binding, 20 silver nickel frets, simulated bone nut and saddle and good quality geared machine head tuners. Oh… and it sounds nice too!

The sound is full and rich, with good emphasis on the bass notes. The Aquila strings provide nice brightness on the treble notes too, making this a well balanced instrument. Certainly, it gives a really good fullness of tone to chords, while being versatile enough to perform strongly while fingerpicking. The acoustic performance is really good, but with Shadow electrics fitted it also delivers when amplified.

The action is not high, but not ultra low – helping to give good volume while still being very playable. And the set-up is great too, with excellent intonation. Ultimately, this is a very well made uke, nicely finished, nice to play and nice to listen too.
